SINOPSIS / SINOPSIS

El patrón es un joven que aparentemente tiene todo, excepto una preocupación urgente: la salud de su bebé. El empleado está buscando trabajo para mantener a su recién nacido, por eso no duda cuando el patrón decide contratarlo para trabajar en sus tierras. Ambos cubrirán sus necesidades ayudándose mutuamente. Pero un día ocurre un accidente. Este evento inesperado tensará los lazos entre ellos, poniendo en peligro el destino de las dos familias.

The employer is a young man who apparently has everything going on for him except one pressing concern: his baby’s health. The employee is looking for a job to support his newborn too, so does not hesitate when the first decides to hire him to work in his lands. Both will meet their needs by helping each other. But one day an accident happens. This unexpected event will strain the ties between them, endangering the fate of the two families.

MANUEL NIETO ZAS

Manuel Nieto Zas (Montevideo, 1972) es parte de la nueva generación de cine Urguayo. En 2006 escribe y dirige su opera prima «La Perrera», ganadora del Tiger Award en Festival de Rotterdam. En el 2013 además de escribir y dirigir también produce «El Lugar del Hijo», estrenada en el Festival de Toronto, premio FIPRESCI en el Festival de La Habanna. El empleado y el patrón es su tercer largometraje.

Manuel Nieto Zas (Montevideo, 1972) is part of the new generation of Uruguayan cinema. In 2006, he wrote and directed his debut feature film, La perrera, Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival. It was followed by El lugar del hijo (The Militant, 2013) , which in addition to writing and directing he also produced. It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won, among other awards, the FIPRESCI Award at the Havana Film Festival. The employer and the employee is his third feature film.
