A pesar de que su padre Usher sea el hombre más popular y querido del barrio por generosidad y ocupación a favor de necesitados, Ariel nunca tuvo una buena relación con él. Ahora que regresa a Once, el barrio de su infancia, se reencontrará con las tradiciones que los separaron‎. A veces para encontrarse hay que volver a la raíces.

Ariel, who has built a successful career in New York, happily thinks he has left his past behind. But when his distant father Usher, who runs a Jewish aid foundation in Buenos Aires, summons him back for help, Ariel’s life in the Big Apple does not stand a chance. What ensues is a comedy of errors as this close-knit old Jewish neighborhood of friends, family and the odd enemy joyfully show us the extent to which we can ever really leave our past behind.

DANIEL BURMAN

Daniel Burman es miembro fundador de la Academia de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales de la Argentina. Ha dirigido once largometrajes: Un crisantemo estalla en Cincoesquinas (1997), Esperando al Mesías (2000), El abrazo partido (2003), Derecho de familia (2005), El nido vacío (2008), Dos hermanos (2010), La suerte en tus manos (2012), El Misterio de la Felicidad (2014), El Rey del Once (2015). Su película El Abrazo partido fue galardonada con el Oso de Plata en el Festival de Berlín. En reconocimiento a su visión humanitaria, fue galardonado con el premio Robert Bresson en el Festival de Venecia.

 Daniel Burman is a founding member of the Academy of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina. Burman has directed eleven films: A Chrysanthemum Bursts in Cincoesquinas (1998), Waiting for the Messiah (2000), Every Stewardess Goes to Heaven (2001), Lost Embrace (2003), Family Law (2008), Empty Nest (2008), Brother and Sister (2010), Tzadikim – Los 36 Justos (2011), All In (2012), The Mystery of Happiness (2014), The Tenth Man (2015). His film Lost Embrace has been awarded with the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. In recognition of his humanitarian vision, Burman was awarded the Robert Bresson Award at the Venice Film Festival.
