SINOPSIS / SYNOPSIS

Es verano en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, vacía y calurosa. La hermana de Marcela acaba de morir, y ella hace su duelo, mientras debe enfrentarse a desarmar esa casa. Un joven amigo  de su hija aparece en su vida dispuesto a ayudarla, y su presencia da lugar a viajes y aventuras juntos. En sus confusos días, se entrecruzan personas y conversaciones de otro tiempo que la interpelan, mientras la inminencia de su vida cotidiana la acecha.

It’s summertime in an empty and heated Buenos Aires. Marcela’s world is shaken as her sister passes away, and it becomes estranged and unfamiliar. While still grieving, she will have to deal with clearing out her sister’s apartment. Willing to help out, Nacho, a young friend of her daughter’s, bursts in. His presence gives way to shared road trips and adventures. During these confusing days, people and conversations from another time will get intertwined, leading her to some self-questioning, as the imminence of everyday life pushes in.

MARÍA ALCHÉ

María Alché es directora y actriz. Se graduó como realizadora de la ENERC y estudia filosofía en la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Trabajó con Lucrecia Martel, protagonizando La Niña Santa, en Trátame Bien junto a Julio Chavez y Cecilia Roth, en Luminaris de Juan Pablo Zaramella y fue dirigida en teatro por reconocidos directores entre ellos Pompeyo Audivert, Ariel Farace y Luis Garay entre otros. Es Directora de Casting y Coach de Actores en numerosas películas, entre ellas El Rey del Once de Daniel Burman, La Helada Negra de Maximiliano Schonfeld, Las Herederas de Marcelo Martinessi, y El prófugo de Natalia Meta. Dicta clases de dirección de actores. Dirigió los cortometrajes, Noelia, Gulliver, Invierno 3025, Quién se metió con Mayra? que fueron exhibidos en los festivales de Locarno, Rotterdam, Nueva York, BAFICI, Mar del Plata, Indie Lisboa, La Habana, entre varios otros, y fue invitada de Honor del Festival De Valdivia donde proyectaron todos sus cortometrajes.
Familia Sumergida, es su primer largometraje de ficción. Participó en el taller de Análisis de Proyectos Cinematográficos de Coló-TYPA y también de BAL-Tres Puertos. Fue seleccionada para participar en el Talents Campus de Berlin y en el TIFF Filmmaker Lab de Toronto.
Participó como jurado en los festivales Bafici, Fab, Festival de Cine de Cipoletti, y de Valdivia.

María Alché is an Argentinian film director and actress. She studied Philosophy at Buenos Aires University (UBA) and graduated with a Bachelor or Arts degree at ENERC (Insitute of film and Audiovisual Experimentation). She has starred in numerous art house films, such as “ La Niña Santa” by Lucrecia Martel. Has directed the short films Gulliver, Noelia, and Winter 3025 among others. awarded in Internacional Films Festivals such as Locarno, Rotterdam, BAFICI, New Directors New Films, International Festival of Curtas-Metragens of São Paulo, Toulouse, Indie Lisboa, La Havana, among others. She teaches acting and has done the casting director of Daniel Burman´s El Rey del Once; Maximiliano Schonfeld ‘s La Helada Negra and Daniel Seggiaro’s Nosilatiaj. Immersed Family is her directorial debut, participated at Typa, Lab, 3 Puertos Cine, Berlin Talent Campus, Toronto Film lab, Cine en Construcción San Sebastian. World premier at Locarno Film Festival 2018.
She is currently developing her first feature film A Family Submerged.
