SINOPSIS / SYNOPSIS
Fauna encarga una misión al desencantado Marvin Sánchez: investigar a la misteriosa Flora para rescatarla de las garras de un vidente de poca monta y de un corrupto político. Creyéndose enamorado de Flora y de Fauna, y al mismo tiempo dudando de si son la misma mujer, Marvin se obsesiona en resolver el caso aunque esto le provoque cuestionar su propia identidad y su falta de fe en la vida.
Fauna assigns a mission to the disenchanted Marvin Sánchez: to investigate the mysterious Flora and rescue her from the clutches of a lowly seer and a corrupt politician. Believing himself to be in love with both Flora and Fauna, while simultaneously doubting if they are the same woman, Marvin becomes obsessed with solving the case, even if it causes him to question his own identity and his lack of faith in life.

Es un guionista, productor y director uruguayo. Escribió y dirigió Acné (2008), estrenada en la Quincena de Realizadores del Festival de Cannes. Su segundo largometraje, La vida útil (2010), se estrenó en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto y el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián y fue la candidata oficial de Uruguay a los Oscar. El Apóstata (2015), recibió el premio FIPRESCI en el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián. Belmonte (2018) se estrenó en el Festival de Cine de Toronto y en el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián. Su última película, Así habló el cambista (2019), tuvo su estreno mundial en la sección de competencia Plataforma del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto y fue candidata uruguaya al Oscar en 2019.
He is a Uruguayan screenwriter, producer, and director. He wrote and directed Acné (2008), which premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival. His second feature film, La vida útil (2010), was released at the Toronto International Film Festival and the San Sebastián Film Festival, and it was Uruguay’s official candidate for the Oscars. El apóstata (2015) won the FIPRESCI Prize at the San Sebastián Film Festival. Like his previous three feature films, Belmonte (2018) was also selected at the Toronto Film Festival and the San Sebastián Film Festival. His latest film, Así habló el cambista (2019), had its world premiere in the Platform competition section at the Toronto International Film Festival and was Uruguay’s Oscar candidate in 2019.
