SINOPSIS / SINOPSIS

Germania es la historia del último día de una familia de alemanes de Volga en una pequeña aldea de Entre Ríos. La Madre, y sus dos hijos adolescentes, Lucas y Brenda, realizan un duelo íntimo esperando la partida. Pero las razones de su huida son misteriosas. Su granja fue devastada por una peste y los aldeanos evitan acercarse a ellos.

Germania is the story of a Volga-German family’s last day in their village in Entre Ríos. The Mother and her two teenage children, Lucas and Brenda, go into an intimate mourning, waiting for goodbye. But the reasons of their leaving the village are mysterious. Their farm has been devastated by a plague, and the villagers -who blame it on divine punishment- try and avoid being too close to them.

MAXIMILIANO SCHONFELD

Maximiliano Schonfeld nace en 1982, en Crespo, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Estudia en la Escuela Nacional de Cine (ENERC ) y se muda a Buenos Aires. En el 2012 escribe y dirige Germania, ganadora de Premio NDR Mejor Opera Prima en Hamburgo, Premio Especial del Jurado y Feisal en el BAFICI, Mejor Película y Mejor Director en Punta del Este. Convocado a participar en el DOX:LAB del Festival de Copenhague, co-dirige el mediometraje Auster ,junto a Kadri Kõusaar. Su segunda película, La Helada Negra es presentada en la sección oficial Panorama en Berlín.

Maximiliano Schonfeld was born in 1982, in Crespo, Entre Ríos, Argentina. He moved to Buenos Aires where he graduated from ENERC (National School of Cinema). In 2012 Maximiliano wrote and directed Germania. The film was awarded with the NDR Hamburg, the Special Jury Award at Bafici, and the Best Film and Best Director Awards at Punta del Este. Schonfeld was invited to participate at the DOX:LAB program held by the Copenhagen Film Festival, for which he directed the medium-length feature Auster with Estonian director Kadri Kõusaar. His second feature film The Black Frost (La Helada Negra) was presented at Berlinale- Panorama.
